Toy story themed birthday party

I was so overwhelmed trying to plan 2 birthday parties last year within 2 weeks 1 year post partum & 1 month before Christmas and I seem to always be sick around their birthdays (this year I was sick 2 weeks before + got sick from someone at the party). Let’s just say, never doing that again for all of the above.

If it was solely up to me, we wouldn’t even have birthday parties to be honest. It feels more about everyone else and less about the babies half the time but since we decided to throw them one, this year I decided to do a joint birthday party to keep the stress down. I’m very much into minimal bday decor these days. I want to keep it themed but I’m just into more of a less obnoxious primary color kid style. I had to first make sure it was a theme that they both love which was a basically between bluey or toy story so I chose the ladder simply because they have an entire bin of toys already dedicated to that theme.

I wanted to focus mostly on my kids and not worry about other people as much so here’s how I did it this year.

Party started at 1pm, normally I start much later but I knew I wanted to start early to be done hosting early and in our family (and most families of color) there’s an adult party after the kid party so I kept that in mind also.

Food was served around 145pm. My mil typically always makes the food for my parties and it takes a lot off my plate.

Games and entertainment: I had a prize basket to pick from as the winner of the game. I usually will let one kid win twice before giving

Games were typical kiddie party games
I ordered a toy themed “pin the tail on the donkey” which you can find here.
We had to play hot potato with the mr potato since he was already out on the table
Musical chairs, a dart game with Velcro balls and freeze dance

I pre ordered these cake toppers for the cake which my mom makes every year. I always just ask for the most basic naked style cake because I love the way it looks and fits with any party style imo. She made one cake for each kid and I split the toppers of their fave characters.

Presents were a bit chaotic. I set hulk in his high chair and junie in her booster chair and we handed them each a gift at the same time. Our family is pretty good at all the point and ahhing to hype the kids up for each gift so it was a hot but fun mess. The kids loved it but I maybe trying a different method next year.

For the decor, I did 2 infinity and beyond for hulky and fredis fourth rodeo for Junie. Here’s everything I used:

I also got them tootle cowgirl/cowboy outfits because I couldn’t resist. I know they won’t let me dress them for long so fully taking advantage of that now. Here are both of their outfits and where to shop them.

When it comes to Partnering with a brand, I am going to give my full and honest review of the product. It is more important to me to maintain integrity and trust with my audience than falsely advertise a brand I don't believe in for a paycheck. If I am partnering with a brand, chances are I already know the product and love it which is why I decided to partner. When it comes to items gifted, I only share products I have a genuine interest in and have tried myself. I am not contractually obligated to share gifted items which makes it super easy to not share something I do not believe to be a great product. Id rather be genuine and work with select brands that I actually enjoy and use which is why I share non sponsored products all the time as well. I just share what I like, sponsored or not and I think this helps play a major part in earing and keeping your trust.
